I am fun-loving, a dreamer, but not much of a schemer. I try always to be a good friend, and a good mother, daughter and sister. I am a hard worker, and I like to work hard and also to have a good time. I am serving in the Peace Corps, in Moldova, and the insight and opinions in this blog are mine, and do not reflect the opinions of the US government or the Peace Corps. "I cannot do great things. I can only do small things with great love."

work, work, work

If it seems like all I am doing is working, it must be so...Whatever was I thinking to agree to work overnights at Bean's? I know that when I signed on, I thought I was going to be laid off, but this is bordering on the ridiculous. I have this inability to quit once I have made a commitment so I am there like I have nothing better to do with my time. For those of you who don't know, this year I am a picker in the Order Fulfillment Center (OFC, for those in the know). This is quite different and much more physically challenging than the pseudo-phone-sexiness of answering calls from customers, as I have done the past few years. All night long I am up and down a ladder filling orders. It would be really fun if I were not so sleep deprived. I work from 10 pm to 6:30 am, go home, shower, and work at Sweetser from 8-4 or so, then sleep from 5-8:30 and do it all over again. Anyway, I have called in twice, once for Girl's Martini night at MJ's and then again this past Monday for snow, plus I am taking off the next two Wednesday's from Sweetser, and by then it will all be over. This weekend I baked cookies and wrote out cards, just to have them done before it gets really busy!

We have had our first snow, and it is very pretty and very cold right now. I bought oil yesterday, over $3 a gallon!! I think that if I weren't leaving, I would definitely have to get a room-mate just to pay for oil.

I am getting nervous about all that has to be done before I go, and as I think of things I am writing them down and trying to get to them. I really am not a detail person, so this is where I get a little nervous about what I might forget to do or have done before I am gone.

My appointment just showed up, so, surprisingly, back to work! The phrase, "No rest for the weary" has new meaning this week...
